More gadgets that caught early buzz (and in at least some cases awards) at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show here included a wireless video bridge design kit, a car stereo design specifically to interface with Apple Inc.'s iPhone, a line of self-powered preparedness products and a multi-touch display for industrial designers.
3M Touch Systems Inc. 23-inch multi-touch display capable of registering more than 10 simultaneous touch events with a 6-milisecond response time.
Self-powered preparedness products
Etón Corp. showcased a line of self-powered preparedness products, the TurboDyne Series, which are branded by the American Red Cross (a portion of proceeds from each sale goes to the American Red Cross). The products are powered by hand turbine power generators and require no batteries. They are expected to be available in the first quarter of this year.
IPhone-compatible car stereo
France's Admea SA's Oxygen Audio brand showcased its O'Car car stereo head unit specifically designed for the iPhone.
Wireless video bridge
Wireless video bridge design kit from Quantenna Communications Inc. The kit implements Quantenna's QHS610 IEEE 802.11a/n WiFi chipset, operating at the 5GHz frequency band, using 4x4 MIMO technology and digital beam forming.
