this depends on your PCB data rates. Generally speaking, when data rate is above 1Gbps, you need to consider SI/PI ( signal and power integrity). Then you need the relavative simulation software. Cadence can handle some of the SI/PI simulation by a traditional equivalent cicuit method, in some cases, we need a high performance SI/PI/EMC/EMI analysis, then we use Ansoft software, such as SIwave, Designer, Nexxim, HFSS, Q3D, etc. Usually, when data rate is below 5Gbps, high performance SI/PI analysis is a must.
