Cutting out sections of top conductor layer

Hi Guys,
Basically I have imported a large layout (top surface only) into ADS momentum and I am only interested in simulating a small section of it. I need to therefore cut out the section of top copper I wish to simulate. This sounds easy enough however I cannot seem to cut specific required shapes. The software seems to cut away a shape almost at random outside the selection I have made. How do I specify a selected rectangle of controlled size and cut away the material within that rectangle and not anything outside it

Maybe the "cookie cutter" would be applicable/useful in this case. If you open the ADS documentation (I'm using ADS 2015.01), do a search for "Using the Cookie Cutter".
