Component connection in layout
I haven't been able to figure out this problem. I'm using Momentum to analyze layout with component models from Murata and Coilcraft. When I place them on the layout, they don't make a connection to traces and ports. If I disconnect components and short the traces, the simulation runs fine. I'm only debugging the connectivity from the component to the layout. Therefore, I'm using the simplest, two-layer substrate, a couple traces, and two ports. The layer names match. The component information area shows that its pads are connected to the correct net names. I even tried native ADS passives with layout artwork. Still no success. Aren't S-parameters embedded in the models? Can anyone comment? Thanks.
Have you looked at the Momentum co-simulation workflow? This creates the proper ports for components in the Momentum model, and proper connection between layout simulated by Momentum and circuit components.
Thanks for the reply, Volker. Yes, I'm going to try that when I get back to the project. Keysight tech support suggested the same thing.
