Adaptive pin location for optimization in Momentum

Hi,

I am optimizing a parametric model in Momentum. Among the ports, some have a "None" calibration type and the corresponding pins are placed inside a metallic pad without being "snapped" to a specific interconnect.
For that case, when running the optimization, the pin's position is fixed relative to the origin but as the geometry is being optimized, the intended locations of such pins with regard to pads are lost. (It even can end up that a pin is not anymore in contact with the conductor).

How to fix/link such pins to a specific position inside the metallic pad so that they will be kind of attached to it as the geometry is being optimized?

If you parameterize such a geometry using the Nominal/Perturbed approach, you can move the pins along in the perturbation definition to maintain relative position. You can also define artwork macros for your geometry. But if the geometry is synchronized from a schematic, and if you manually place pins inside some part of a component in layout, then I'm not sure there is a way to do this.

Thanks for the feedback. Exactly, the layout model is generated from Schematic. Parametrization type: Subnetwork!

The safe way for this type of work is to have some polygon edge for snapping. Perhaps you can add a "dummy" polygon that only serves as the snapping location, and moves along with the parameter changes.
