export ads momentum to ansoft hfss

hi, i am trying to figure out how i can translate a late i have in momentum to HFSS. I have tried exporting to dxf, gdsII and a few othere but when import them into hfss they are just flat and don't have any of the dimensions such as thickness. I found something that talks about using a tool called HP-ADS to HP-HFSS translator, but i can't find it anywhere. Also I am using ansoft HFSS and agilent ads so i don't even know if this tool would work anymore. thanks for the help

I don't think yo can export a real 3D layout. You have to extrude it later in HFSS.

I agree with wlcsp. exporting to dxf, gdsII just get a 2D layout. They lose all the information in vertical direction.You have to extrude it later in HFSS by youeself.

right now that is what i am doing, just importing the 2D drawing and sweeping the shape along a vector to make it 3D, just thought that maybe there was a way to translate with substrate and other layers. someone was telling me they were able to import the layout into Ansoft Designer, then from there export to HFSS. I haven't been able to try that yet as I am still waiting to get the designer. well thanks anyways, I guess it really isn't that much more work, just was looking to make it a little faster.

HFSS has 3D-model import from mechanical programmes, only. For example -SolidWorks.
