ADS layout length problem

录入:edatop.com    点击:
Hi,
In the attached picture the distance between TL 58 (MLIN) and TL 59(MLIN) should be 540 mil
now in order to fill the gap between Mbent and Mtee if i use a normal TL(i.e , Length=Lamda) then in the layout there's a gap generated.
what should i do to rectify with a good performance
please help me.

Mlin is the correct element. You only need to calculate the correct length of that line.

From what I can see, if the length would be 540mil/2 + Wtline/2 - 50mil/2 - 100mil.

Thanks for replying
i knew about it but if i use MLIN to fill that gap then there would be unnecessary phase change which i don't want
is it OK to do it
Do the designers actually make this kind of adjustments?

Even if you don't want that phase ... do you expect magic instead?

If you want that 540mil distance between the output lines, then you need some line to connect the elements. If you want to reduce the extra phase, you can layout the lines at a different angle (Y junction) instead of 90°.

Yes, of course.

Hi, volker,

Why do you add "Wtline/2"? I think that substracts 100mil has already included the half width of TL58?

You are right. Without adding the Wtline/2, the 540mil distance would be between the line centers.
I was assuming that the 540mil distance is measured between the inner edges of the lines.
