Filter design using spiral inductor in ADS Plz Help

Hi, I am trying to design band pass filter by using planar lumped component like spiral inductor and interdigitated capacitor .But the problem how can I design the spiral inductor to give some value at 10GHz,while it has parasitic element ,in ADS and how can I prove it theoritically which book or website that I should read to overcome this problem.

You must provide the substrate information and the dimensions of the inductors in ADS/ Momentum. The inductor is then simulated with the associated parasitics.

You will have to look some articles on spiral inductors. There are the traditional formulas on how to calculate the inductance of a straight wire and so forth. The problem with spiral inductors are that there are many lines in close proximety given a higher inductance due to mutual coupling(both positive and negative).

There are some things like the with of the strips(more capacitance between trace and ground, ut less loss) and the spacing between adjecent turns(which decide the coupling betwen the turns).

There exits a number of closed from exspressions on spiral inductors(both rectangular and circular), but you will see if you use them that you will have to optimize, to get it right.

But to have a working inductor at 10 GHz, you will need a resonance which is highe than this. This mean that you will have to make the parasitic as small as possible.

I made a project some time ago on a bandpass filter at 5.4 GHz. Here i designed the spiral inductors. Maybee I can dig it up up somewhere. At least to give you some articles to read.

you can first simulate with idea LC element

if you have inductor model, this is also helpful to substitue it with idea ones.

then Substitute the idea element with S2P of simulation result for the signle inductor with ADS/HFSS etc

finally, you need put then together in one design and simulate with EDA tools

I think this is the typical way to design Integrated Filter
