Every day we connect people to the network and make it come to life.  Cisco is looking for an experienced ECAD engineer who will be responsible for end-to-end quality design of complex, dense, high-speed, high volume, double-sided surface mount printed circuit boards using Cadence Allegro 15.x and Valor design verification tools. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of at least 7 years experience in mid to high end PCB design. This position will work closely with hardware engineers to implement design requirements of highly complex board layouts. Employee will also work closely with compliance, thermal, mechanical, safety, ICT and manufacturing engineers to ensure that Cisco standards for quality, DFM / DFA / DFT, safety and compliance are met. Employee will provide the project team with design schedules and status updates.

Manger specific requirements:

> BSEE (preferreed) or ASEE or work related equivalent
> 7+ yrs designing mid to high end PCBs
> 5+ yrs experience with Cadence Allegro design tool
> Experience with Allegro ver 15.2 or higher
> Working knowledge of general industry EMC, SI, Power, Safety and ICT requirements.
> Good English communication skills, written and verbal
> Team player who can work with minimal supervision

Successful candidate will be responsible for supporting senior ECAD designers in various aspects of complex, dense, high-speed, high volume, double-sided surface mount printed circuit boards using Cadence Allegro and Valor design verification tools. Example of support responsibilities will include compiling production quality fabrication and assembly drawings, cleaning up silkscreen, performing quality assurance checking for compliance with Cisco's DFM / DFA / DFT manufacturing standards, etc. This position will also involve designing less complex printed circuit boards while being supervised and mentored by more senior ECAD to provide the employee a career path towards a higher job grade with more responsibility and less supervision. There are possible opportunities in other areas supporting ECAD such as Cadence Skill programming, web site development and maintenance and design data reporting using Excel. Training for work in these areas can be pursued through Cisco internal education and/or 3rd party training, such as Cadence Internet Learning Series for Skill programming.

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years experience working in the PCB industry. That experience can be as a lab or rework technician, manufacuring or design. This position requires at least one year experience in actual printed circuit board design. This is not an entry level position, but an excellent junior level opportunity which can evolve into a more senior position over time with a proven track record of success and demonstrated ability to accept more responsibility and requiring less supervision. This position will work closely with not only with local senior ECAD staff, but also other geographically distributed Cisco ECAD personnel and Cisco manufacturing. Over time the employee will also learn to work directly with hardware engineers, signal integrity, compliance, test, power, safety, thermal, mechanical, CAE library and tools staff.

Initially the position will consist of supporting senior ECAD designers in various aspects of complex, dense, high-speed, high volume, double-sided surface mount printed circuit boards using Cadence Allegro and Valor design verification tools, as well as performing printed circuit board design on less complex projects. This is an excellent opportunity to work with highly skilled ECAD engineers in a challenging, fast paced environment, where mentoring and training will be provided.

Manger specific requirements:

> BSEE (preferred) or ASEE or work related equivalent
> 3+ years working in the printed circuit board (PCBs) industry in design, lab tech or manufacturing.
> 1+ years experience designing low to mid range PCBs with Cadence Allegro
> Experience with Allegro version 15.5 or higher preferred
> Working knowledge of general industry manufacturing and assembly standards
> Must have good English communication skills, both written and verbal
> Must have a positive, collaborative attitude towards working in a team environment
