CST2013: Temperature Dependent Materials
Modeling: MaterialsNew/EditNew MaterialType: Temp. dependentProperties
Navigation Tree: Materials<Material Name>PropertiesType: Temp. dependentProperties
In this dialog, the dependency of the relative permittivity , relative permeability and electric conductivity on temperature can be defined. For example, an approximate temperature dependency of electric conductivity of copper is depicted in the following plot:
Besides, the specific temperature field can be selected to be used with this material. Temperature dependent materials are currently supported by HF Time Domain Solver and Stationary Current Solver. Please note that the former solver currently supports only temperature distributions defined on the hexahedral mesh, whereas the latter can handle both tetrahedral and hexahedral based distributions.
Temperature field
In this combobox, the temperature distribution to be used with the current material can be selected. The following possibilities are provided:
Automatic: select this item in order to utilize the default temperature distribution (e.g. the first in the list of imported fields).
Import field...: import a new temperature distribution and use it with the current material.
Otherwise, select an already imported temperature field.
Temperature dependency
In this group, the dependencies of the relative permittivity , relative permeability and electric conductivity on temperature can be defined. Select the specific parameter in the Parameter combobox and define the corresponding dependency curve. If the temperature dependency for any parameter is not defined, the default constant value is utilized.
Delete
Deletes the currently selected item from the list.
Delete All
Deletes all items in the list.
Import...
Imports the data from a text file.
Export...
Exports the data into a text file.
OK
Accepts the input and closes the dialog. Please note that at least three data points must be defined for correct interpolation.
Preview
Displays a preview of user-defined and fitted curves for the temperature dependency of the selected parameter.
