The QuickStart Guide is designed to assist you during your first steps in CST MICROWAVE STUDIO.

Please note: If you want to have the QuickStart Guide started automatically whenever you start CST MICROWAVE STUDIO select File: OptionsPreferencesOpen QuickStart Guide.

If not already done, you have to select the type of calculation:

• Time Domain Analysis

• Frequency Domain Analysis

• Eigenmode Analysis

• Integral Equation Analysis

• Asymptotic Analysis

• Multilayer Analysis

If there is more than one method available select Next>>. The guide will show you a list, where each item represents a step in the model definition process. As soon as you have successfully completed a step, the corresponding item will be checked and the next necessary step will be highlighted. You can use <<Back to change the calculation type at any time.

You can obtain help for a particular step by just clicking onto the corresponding line in the list. In some cases, the dialog box for the next step is opened automatically by selecting the proper action from the main menu. You may then obtain further help by pressing the F1 key or by using the Help button within the dialog box.

However, for some steps (such as the structure creation) no single dialog box for this task exists. In these cases, the QuickStart Guide will open an overview help page showing some of the possible actions.
