This dialog enables you to check a shape for invalid or bad data, and repair the problems of the shape. Some problems can automatically be repaired, others need a manual modeling operation. This dialog is only a start to make it easier to find problems, and to check whether healing or the proposed repairing operations are really the correct way to get a valid shape.
Not for all problems it is known how it can be repaired. For the following problems a repairing operation is available:
Problem | Repairing Operation |
The curves have G1 or G2-discontinuities. | Owning edges are splitted. |
The surfaces have G1 or G2-discontinuities. | Owning faces are splitted. |
The curves or surfaces are self-intersecting. | Self-intersections are tried to be removed |
The shape has sliver faces. | Sliver faces are tried to be removed. |
Note: None of the operations performed on the shape within this dialog are written to the history list!
List of detected problems
There are two modes how the problems of a shape can be viewed. Either you list all problems detected from the checker (Acis Problems) or you get them categorized into groups (Problem DB).
To switch between the modes use the buttons Problem DB and Acis Problems.
By active Problem DB: When you select a problem in the list, the related problematic vertices, edges and faces are highlighted in the main view.
Description: Gives a description about the problem. By active Acis Problems: the text between the brackets informs you whether the problem is specified as error or warning.
Solution Proposal (only by active Problem DB): For some problems a solution how to repair the problem can be given, see table above.
Problem DB
Press this button to get the problems from the checker categorized into groups. For each group one problem is listed in the grid, and a solution is given.
Acis Problems
Press this button to display all problems from the checker.
Check Shape
Press this button to check the shape. After healing or repairing a problem, the shape has to be checked again to get an updated list of problems.
Repair Problem
It is tried to repair the selected problem.
Heal Shape
Press this button to heal the shape.
Close
Closes this dialog box without performing any further action.
Help
Shows this help text.
