CST2013: Transform Dialog
Modeling: ToolsTransform
Transform a selected object. With this function you can translate, scale, rotate or mirror an object. You can copy the object to the new position / scale or move it. You may use the mouse to perform the transformations (except mirror).
If a working coordinate system is active, working coordinates will be used. Thus you can e.g. specify any rotation axis you want.
Operation frame
Select the desired operation: Translate, Scale, Rotate or Mirror.
Copy
Check here to copy the selected object.
Unite
Check here to add the new object(s) to the selected one. (Only active if Copy object checked)
Use picked points
Check here, if you want the translation vector to be defined by two picked points. You may pick new points while the dialog is open. (Only active for Translate.)
Invert translation vector
Check here to invert the translation vector's direction. (Only active if Use picked points checked)
Rotate axis aligned
Check here to assure that rotation angles are multiples of 90°. (Only active for Rotate, some object types require this option to be checked.)
Scale uniform
Check here to scale uniformly in all 3 directions. Only one value needs to be entered in that case. (Only active for Scale, some object types require this option to be checked.)
Repetitions frame
Repetition factor: The number of repeated transformations.
Translation vector / Scale vector / Rotate angles / Mirror plane normal frame
Translate: Specify the translation vector. You may also use two picked points to define this vector by checking Use picked points.
Scale: You can scale the object using different scale factors for the coordinates. Switch to Scale uniform for proportional scaling.
Rotate: Enter the rotation angle around the specific axis. It is recommended only to rotate around one axis at one time to keep the overview.
Mirror: Enter the mirror plane normal, i.e. x=0, y=0, z=1 if you want to mirror on the XY-plane.
Origin frame
This frame specifies the origin for the operation. (Not used for Translate)
Shape center: Uses the center of the shape as origin. If a component, a curve or multiple objects are selected, the common center is used
Change destination frame
Component/Curve: Change the destination component or curve (only active if Copy object is selected) or create a new component/curve by typing the new name.
Material: Change the associate material of the shape or create a new material by selecting [New Material...]. You can also load a material from the material library by selecting [Load from Material Library...].
OK
Performs the selected transformation and closes the dialog box.
Preview
Press this button to create a preview image of the transformed object. This option is very useful to check the settings before you actually transform the object.
Apply
Performs the selected transformation without closing the dialog for further transformations.
Cancel
Closes this dialog box without performing any further action.
More/Less (only visible while transforming solids and components)
Use this button to enlarge or reduce the dialog.
Reset
Resets origin, transform values, repetition and destination to its defaults.
