CST2013: Material Set
A material may consist of different material sets. Each material set corresponds to a problem type that needs to be solved for the current model. For the following problem types material sets can be defined:
Problem Type |
Description |
Default |
This set is always available for a material and can not be deleted. It is used when no specialized set is available. |
High Frequency |
This material set is favored by all HF- solvers. If no high frequency set is available the Default set is used. |
Low Frequency |
This material set is favored by all LF- solvers. If no low frequency set is available the Default set is used. |
Particle |
This frequency set is favored by the particle solvers. If no particle set is available, the priorities in which sets are used are as follows:
PIC: Particle - High Frequency - Default Tracking: Particle - Low Frequency - Default Wakefield: Particle - High Frequency - Default |
Whenever a solver is started, the correct material set for this specific solver will be used for the simulation automatically. If there is no specific material set, the "Default" material set will be used - except for the particle solvers (see table above).
Example: A model needs to be simulated with the time domain solver and with the electrostatic solver. Besides the "Default" material set there is a "High Frequency" material set. If the time domain solver is started, the simulation will use the "High Frequency" material set. If the electrostatic solver is started afterwards, it would use a "Low Frequency" material set, but as there is no such material set the "Default" material set will be used.
This drop down box shows the problem types of all defined material sets. The "Default" material set will always be visible.
To define / delete or reset a material set select the entry [Manage Material Sets...].
