This template allows the easy definition of a farfield watch or goal. It offers you a wide variety of options (3D plot, polar plot and single direction), of values, plot modes and components (including e.g. Ludwig3, which is required for Co- and Cross-Polarization calculation). For a more detailed explanation of the settings please refer to the Farfield Overview.
The template offers to define and choose from "Quick-Configurations" for commonly used tasks. Selecting such a quick configuration will automatically do all settings in the dialogues underneath. So a quick configuration can also be a good starting point for setting similar tasks. Selecting the Advanced button will open the dialogue with full access to all settings. Here you could also store a new setup via button Store Setup to access the new configuration afterwards through comfortable Quick Configuration list for other projects.
Besides standard farfiled and RCS extraction, the template also allows processing of Mean Effective Gain and Multiplexing Efficiency. Those result values are accessable after switching to type=3D. Please note: all farfield templates have a separate entry for Excitation String which has to be changed and entered manually, if different from port 1. For RCS simulations, the excitation string has to be changed to [pw] (plane wave), for excitation at port 4 please fill in [4].
Please note: if you use this template in CST DESIGN STUDIO, it may fail if no 3D results are present, although a preceeding circuit simulation succeeded. This happens if the circuit simulation reads the S-Parameters from the CST MICROWAVE STUDIO cache. To prevent this you can either delete the cache using the context menu of the CST MICROWAVE STUDIO block, or add an AC task with enabled Combine Results. The latter will always force a 3D simulation if no 3D results are present, regardless of the cache.

This button completes the setup of the template. The new entry will be added to the list of templates which are executed automatically after each run. The default name of the template is set according to the settings, as long the name has not been changed manually.
Cancel
Aborts the setup of the template and closes this dialog box without performing any further action.
