I have simulated CST and I found down something that I wonder:
-When the frequency range changes, the resonance frenquency changes also, so how can I set frequency range to get the more accurate result. For example when I work with 5.8 Ghz , which frequency range I should set, 7 Ghz or 8 or 10 Ghz.
- About setting Mesh: How to set mesh parameter: 10-15 or 20 lines per wavelengh which is better. HOw about other parameter in Mesh
-About Setting accuracy in solver setting: -40DB is enough or much higher
-About steady state: Which number is enough in maximum number of pulse: 100 is enough ? or much 200 ?
How about other parameter
I hope that I can get the answer from your excelent guy.

hi bkd,
for your first question, it is usually suggested that the range should not be too large, if the necessary bandwidth you are interested in is already taken into account. To your example, i suppose 7 GHz is enough.
For your questions about settings of "Transient Solver", these parameters are chosen according to the property of your structure, e.g if the structure is a strongly resonating device or not.
After all, the "getting started" and the help file that CST provides are always good guide to me who still have little practical experience. I always turn to them for help once i've no idea about the settings.
Hi bkd, I have also been using CST for my antenna simulation!
These are some my experience about the settings:
-Frequency range: depending on the Fre. range you set up, the port signal will be different . You should choose the minimum fre. from 0, it can be save about a half of simulation time! As DrunkBear, I also think 7GHz is enough for ur design.
-Setting Mesh: 20 in Lines per wave length is good enough for the beginning. After getting the good matching, u can increase this setting value in oder to nearly reach the reality, however, the time will be increases significantly. Other settings clearly described in the HELP!
-Setting accuracy: I think , at the beginning, i,e. when the first simulations, u should choose the accuracy with only -20 or -30 and check whether the signal energy converge to 0 or not, then increasing to save the simulation time.
-Steady state: 20 or 40 or another value? That's now my problem!
