[CST] Beam forming: Calculating amplitude and Phase?

录入:edatop.com     点击:
Dear Members:
I have designed a 1x4 element antenna array in CST and now would like to study its beam forming on specific angles. The question is how can I calculate the relevant amplitudes and phases to achieve the maximum directivity of the array?

Anyone knows how to calculate amplitudes and phases and then implement them in CST?

Awaiting replies

Regards

There are different optimal distributions depending on your design objectives, small half-power beamwidth or low side lobes. The trivial case of uniform amplitude give smallest beamwidth, review Ballanis Chapter 6, Arrays: Linear, Planar, and Circular for details.

Thnx for the reference but I heard that there are some simulators that can give you the required amplitude and phases? Do u know any of such kind?

P.S...By Beamwidth is 15deg and i want to rotate it between 150deg to -150 deg...with center freq of 60 GHz...

Can anyone post the "linear_isotropic.e " file needed in the MATLAB code Ch:16 of Balanis?
I can;t seem to locate it in the programs files...

Dear FvM
Thnx to ur ref of Balanis, now i know how to calculate the amplitudes and phases given they are uniform or non-uniform..

My question is regarding its implementation in CST Simulator. I have designed a 1x5 element array and now have the relevant amplitudes and phases but don't know how to add these to the Far field results so that I may look at the beam scanning...

Any idea on this? Other Members? Anyone?
